【摘要】:Theincidentalconversionoforganicmaterialtotrihalomethanesandothervolatileorganohalidesduringchlorinationofwaterisapossiblehealthhazardandistheobjectofmuchresearch.Thistestmethodcanbeusedasarapid,simplemeansfordeterminingmanyvolatileorganohalidesinrawandprocessedwater.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheanalysisofdrinkingwater.Itisalsoapplicabletomanyenvironmentalandwastewaterswhenadequatevalidationisincluded.1.2Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofhalomethanes,haloethanes,andsomerelatedextractableorganohalidesamenabletogaschromatographicmeasurement.Theapplicableconcentrationrangefortrihalomethanesisfrom1to200g/L.Detectionlimitsdependonthecompound,matrix,andonthecharacteristicsofthegaschromatographicsystem.1.3Forcompoundsnotspecificallyincludedintheprecisionandbiassectiontheanalystshouldvalidatethetestmethodbycollectingprecisionandbiasdataonactualsamples.1.4Confirmationofcomponentidentitiesisobtainedbyobservingretentiontimesusinggaschromatographiccolumnsofdifferentpolarities.Whenconcentrationsaresufficientlyhigh(>50956;g/L)confirmationwithhalogenspecificdetectorsorgaschromatography/massspectrometry(GC/MS)maybeused.Confirmationofpurgeablecompoundsatlevelsdownto1956;g/LcanbeobtainedusingTestMethodD3871withGC/MSdetection.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection8.
